Steve Grassa, CFA

Steve Grassa is a Managing Director at Physician Growth Partners (PGP), where he helps lead the firm’s healthcare investment banking coverage and advises healthcare business owners and management teams on mergers and acquisitions, private equity recapitalizations, growth equity transactions, and strategic partnerships. With more than a decade of healthcare investment banking experience, Steve has guided founders, physicians, healthcare operators, and private equity backed organizations through complex transactions.

Throughout his career, Steve has represented business owners and hundreds of physicians across a broad range of healthcare services sectors, including physician practice management, behavioral health, ancillary healthcare, and other provider-focused businesses. Through this experience, he has developed an extensive network of relationships across the healthcare ecosystem, including private equity investors, strategic acquirers, executives, and management teams.

Steve works closely with clients to understand their unique objectives, evaluate strategic alternatives, and identify financial and strategic partners that align with their long-term goals. He combines deep transaction experience with firsthand knowledge of the healthcare buyer landscape to help clients navigate partner selection, diligence, negotiations, and other critical decisions throughout the transaction process. As a trusted advisor and advocate, Steve remains actively involved from initial preparation through closing, with a focus on achieving successful transactions and strong long-term outcomes for his clients.

As a recognized voice in healthcare M&A, Steve is frequently invited to speak at industry conferences, webinars, and podcasts. He has presented on panels at conferences hosted by reputable law firms and other healthcare organizations and contributed to publications such as Behavioral Health Business, Acuity Media Network, and the Psychiatric Times.

Steve is from Reading, MA and lives with wife and three kids – four if you include his Boxer, Louis! During his downtime, he enjoys spending time with immediate and extended family, watching sports, staying active and reading. 

Steve graduated from Columbia University where he played football and currently holds the CFA designation.
