April 8th is World Neurosurgeons Day, celebrating the contributions and accomplishments of modern neurosurgery, a specialty where specialized doctors focus on the surgical treatment and management of conditions that affect the brain, arguably the most complex organ in the human body.

The day also marks the birthday of Harvey Cushing, the father of modern neurosurgery.
