Michael Kroin

CEO and Managing Partner

Michael Kroin is the Founder and Managing Partner of Physician Growth Partners, where he leads transaction execution across healthcare services mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, and strategic partnerships. Kroin began his career in healthcare investment banking in 2013, entering the sector as consolidation accelerated across the physician practice management space. He built his foundation as a junior banker advising physician groups and healthcare services companies on sell-side transactions before founding PGP to leverage his expertise and provide sell-side healthcare transaction advisory and investment banking services.

Under Michael’s leadership, PGP has grown from a physician practice-focused advisory firm into a nationally recognized healthcare investment banking firm providing sell-side transaction advisory services across the full spectrum of healthcare services. The firm has completed more than 90 healthcare services transactions spanning physician groups, dental organizations, behavioral health & post-acute care, outpatient & ancillary healthcare services, and tech-enabled and outsourced healthcare services companies.

Michael has been quoted in the New York Times, Crain’s Chicago Business, and Dermatology Times on topics spanning private equity’s role in healthcare, physician practice valuation, and M&A strategy. He is a frequent speaker and podcast guest on healthcare, practice management, and the evolving private equity landscape across all healthcare services sectors.

Robert Aprill

Partner

Robert Aprill is a Partner at Physician Growth Partners, where he advises healthcare business owners on sell-side mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, and strategic partnerships. Throughout his career, Robert has served as a trusted advisor to healthcare entrepreneurs and executives navigating complex strategic transactions. He has represented hundreds of business owners across numerous healthcare services sectors, helping them evaluate opportunities, maximize value, and achieve their long-term objectives.

Robert’s approach extends beyond maximizing valuation. He works closely with owners to identify strategic and financial partners that align with their goals, culture, employees, and patients. John M. Tiedmann, Jr.

Managing Director

John Tiedmann is a Managing Director with Physician Growth Partners (PGP), where he advises clients across a broad range of healthcare services sectors and leads transaction execution for mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, and strategic partnerships. Over nearly 15 years in healthcare investment banking, John has developed deep expertise in healthcare services M&A and a nuanced understanding of the operational, financial, and strategic dynamics that drive value creation across physician practices and healthcare services organizations. Throughout his career, he has built an extensive network of relationships across the healthcare ecosystem, including private equity investors, strategic acquirers, and management teams.

John is known for his hands-on approach to transaction execution and commitment to understanding each client’s unique objectives. He leverages his experience to provide strategic insight throughout the deal process while serving as a strong advocate during negotiations. His track record of helping owners identify high-quality strategic and financial partners has resulted in successful transactions and long-term outcomes for his clients.

As a recognized voice in healthcare M&A, John is frequently invited to speak at industry conferences, webinars, and podcasts. He has participated in educational programs hosted by Farragut Square Group, Levin Associates, and other healthcare industry organizations, and regularly appears on podcasts hosted by leading healthcare law firms. He also presents at industry conferences, including the Orthopedic Value-Based Care Conference (OVBC), and contributes to publications such as the Journal of Orthopaedic Experience & Innovation (JOEI).

Thomas M. Cunningham

Director of Business Development

Thomas Cunningham brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic business development, data-driven growth, and team leadership to his role as Director of Business Development at PGP. He joined the firm in 2023 and leads commercial growth initiatives, including proprietary deal origination, client development, private equity and industry relations, and go-to-market strategy.

Prior to joining PGP, Thomas led business development for Levin Associates, a leading healthcare M&A research and publication firm, where he worked closely with investors, operators, and advisors across the healthcare services landscape. Before that, he co-founded Dark Horse Consulting, a go-to-market strategy consulting firm, partnering with orthopedic surgeons and early-stage HealthTech and Medtech companies in commercialization efforts, contributing to multiple private equity and strategic exits.

Thomas is actively involved in the broader M&A community and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Healthcare Committee for ACG Chicago, where he helps connect founders, investors, and advisors across the healthcare M&A ecosystem.

Sali Asani

Director

Sal provides sell-side transaction advisory services to healthcare businesses in partnership with private equity. He started his career as an investment banker advising founder-owned businesses in pursuit of a transaction across a multitude of sectors. At PGP, Sal’s focus revolves around the entirety of the transaction process, including but not limited to, financial analysis, due diligence, and execution.

Sal utilizes his depth of experience in advisory to facilitate successful processes for clients pursuing a transaction.

James Perrone

Director

Since joining Physician Growth Partners in 2022, James has focused his advisory work on all aspects of the transaction process, including transaction strategy and positioning, financial analysis, due diligence, and ultimately deal execution. James has several years of experience advising healthcare services companies and independent physician groups on both sell-side and buy-side transactions.

Prior to joining Physician Growth Partners, James was an associate in the healthcare group at Lincoln International. He began his career at RSM US LLP in the business valuation department.

Sameer Datla

Vice President

Sameer joined Physician Growth Partners in 2026, where he focuses on providing M&A advisory services to guide healthcare businesses and owners across all aspects of the transaction process. Sameer has extensive experience executing sell-side and buy-side transactions for a broad range of healthcare companies.

Prior to joining PGP, Sameer held investment banking roles at Piper Sandler, William Blair, and Moelis & Company. He also worked in Corporate Development with Duly Health and Care (the largest independent, multi-specialty physician platform).

Jake Dangovian

Vice President

As an Advisor, Jake is responsible for buy-side and sell-side transaction execution, operational and strategic management of portfolio companies, and new investment sourcing. His expertise in acquisitions and financial operations helps identify opportunities to acquire and grow platform companies. He is able to leverage his previous experience to support clients in receiving maximum value with their transactions.

Jake has experience in various accounting and finance roles, with an extensive background in real estate and private investments. Immediately prior to joining PGP, he led the finance department at a real estate development company. Jake started his career in public accounting as a licensed CPA.

Akshay Amin

Transaction Advisor

Akshay earned his A.B. in Economics, with Honors, from Harvard University and joined Physician Growth Partners in 2025, first as an intern before transitioning to a full-time role.

As a member of PGP’s sell-side M&A advisory team, he supports physician and founder-owned healthcare businesses across a wide range of specialties. His work includes financial analysis, marketing material development, buyer outreach, due diligence, and execution support, helping clients navigate each stage of the transaction process to achieve their objectives.

Ryan joined PGP in 2026 to support physician-owned healthcare services clients throughout the transaction process. He specializes in financial analysis, marketing materials development, due diligence support, and deal execution as part of the sell-side M&A advisory team.

Before joining PGP, Ryan spent two years as an analyst in middle-market investment banking, where he covered business, professional, industrial, and environmental services. He originally started his investment banking career with PGP as an intern from 2022-2023.

As a Transaction Advisor, Nick provides support along all relevant steps of the transaction process. Prior to joining Physician Growth Partners, he had experience working with a multi-specialty healthcare platform, allowing him to leverage this knowledge into his current role. Nick graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Finance and Business Analytics.

Nick utilizes his experience in a healthcare setting to ensure optimal client outcomes throughout transactions at Physician Growth Partners.

Matt Garber

Transaction Advisor

Matt joined Physician Growth Partners in 2023 after finishing his M.S. in Business Analytics from Boston University. He primarily focuses on providing financial analysis, developing marketing materials, due diligence, and execution for our sell-side M&A advisory team.

At PGP, Matt works to support physician-owned healthcare services businesses across a diverse range of industry verticals throughout the entire transaction process, ultimately helping them achieve their goals.

Jason Kroin

Jason is set to earn his B.A in Accounting and Finance from Indiana University in May 2026. He joined Physician Growth Partners in 2025 as an investment banking intern.

Serving on PGP’s sell-side M&A advisory team, he works closely with physician- and founder-owned healthcare businesses across multiple specialties. From financial modeling and marketing collateral creation to buyer outreach, due diligence management, and closing execution, Jason helps drive efficient, value-maximizing transactions for PGP clients.

Juliette Pike

Transaction Advisor

Juliette joined PGP’s Boston office in 2026 to support healthcare services clients throughout the transaction process. In her role, she focuses on market research, financial modeling, and process management as part of the firm’s sell-side M&A advisory team.

Prior to joining PGP, Juliette served as an analyst at a boutique biotechnology advisory firm, where she specialized in M&A and licensing advisory services for biotechnology and medtech companies.

Juliette earned a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Economics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Her capstone research focused on the Amyloid Cascade Hypothesis in Alzheimer’s disease.

Alec Staub

Transaction Advisor

Before joining PGP, Alec spent two years as an analyst at a middle-market investment banking firm, where he honed his skills in supporting sell-side healthcare M&A mandates.

Jordan Vetrone

Prior to joining PGP, Jordan spent several years advising founder-led businesses across a range of industries, gaining broad experience in sell-side M&A and private company transactions.
